Fanis Papageorgiou was born in Athens in 1986. He studied Business Administration and Management at the University of Piraeus and European Economic Policy at the Athens University of Economics and Business, while he holds a PhD in Economic Analysis from the National Technical University of Athens. He taught for several years at the School of Applied Mathematics and Natural Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens and at the Department of Economics of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Department of Business Administration of the University of Patras, with the subject "History and Quantitative Applications of Economic Analysis", having taught for several years at the Department. He has taught, among others, the courses "Macroeconomics", "Microeconomics II", "Political Economy", "Development Economics", "History of Economic Theories" and "Econometrics", "International Macroeconomics and Econometric Applications" at undergraduate and postgraduate level. His published research work includes more than 50 articles in peer-reviewed international journals such as International Journal of Finance and Economics, Review of Political Economy, Capital and Class, Journal of Economic Issues, American Journal of Economics and Sociology, European Journal of the History of Economic Thought, Economic Modeling, Applied Economic Letters, International Journal of Social Economics, Journal of Economics and Business, Journal of Economic Asymmetries, Atlantic Economic Journal, Critique and others. He has co-authored, with Panagiotis Michaelides, the textbook Schools of Thought and Economic Fluctuations published by Symmetria editions (2016), and with George Economakis the textbook "Marxist Political Economy and Bourdieu: Economic and Cultural Capital, Classes and State" published by Routledge (2023) and is the author of several books of literary content.
