Special Topics in Operations and Logistics Management

The aim of this lesson is to extend the knowledge of the students to selected topics in operations and logistics management. Emphasis will be given to sequencing and scheduling decisions in manufacturing and services. The following areas will be covered: Project planning and scheduling. Resource-constrained project scheduling. Machine scheduling (single machine problems, parallel machine problems, the flow-shop problem, the job-shop problem). Routing and scheduling in transportation (the vehicle routing problem). Workforce (personnel) scheduling.
