Nearchou Andreas

Andreas C. Nearchou is Professor of Production and Logistics Management at the Department of Business Administration, University of Patras, Greece. He holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in Computer Engineering and Informatics, and a Dr.-Ing. degree in Mechanical Engineering (both from University of Patras). He has extensive professional experience in large scale IT project management. Before joining academia in 2006, he has held various industrial appointments reaching the Director position of the Central Information Systems Services at Patras University.

His research interests focus on the modeling of production and service systems, and, more specifically, on the planning and scheduling of these systems. Recently, his research also has focused on intelligent transportation systems related to city logistics, maritime logistics as well as robotics logistics. He has authored numerous research papers in scientific referred journals and international conferences on these topics (see his research profile: Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science). He is also member of the editorial board of a number of refereed international scientific journals and acting as a program committee member in several IT and industrial engineering related scientific conferences as well as a reviewer for more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific journals.
